In August 2017, DARIAH-EU launched a call for funding directed to the Working Groups. The funding allocated under this scheme was intended to support the activities of the established DARIAH Working Groups, by offering them practical support for their programs, encouraging innovative ideas, building up capacity to suggest new services or help to develop and sustain existing ones. This call awarded 12 Working Groups with funding to develop their suggested projects in the course of a year (2017-2018).
Here’s an overview of the funded projects:
Working Group | Project |
Digital humanities work in focus: multiple case studies of research projects across Europe | |

Engaging Research Communities Beyond DARIAH |
Many of the funded projects sought to organize workshops in order to gather data (e.g. the WG DH Course Registry or the WG Women in History) while other projects aimed to advance knowledge in their respective fields (e.g. the WG on Impact or the WG Sustainable Publishing of Metadata), whose results are to be published in peer review journals. Other Working Groups aimed through their projects to reflect on the role of DARIAH as an infrastructure and to provide guidance in relation to topics such as community building (e.g. the WG Community Engagement) as well as Open Licensing, Ethics and Scholarly Conduct in DH (e.g. the WG ELDAH).
Working Groups Stories will be published on Wednesdays to feature each of these 12 projects and give an overview of their outcomes, highlight the services and activities that have been developed thanks to this financial contribution.
