4th General VCC Meeting, Rome

DARIAH-EU’s 4th General Virtual Competency Centre (VCC) meeting was held in Rome, Italy, on 17-19 September 2014 in the beautiful surroundings of Villa Mirafiori which houses ILIESI, the Institute for the European intellectual lexicon and history of ideas.

The ILIESI was chosen for the venue of this years’ meeting because of its pioneering role in the field of the digital humanities and in the setting up of digital textual archives since the sixties.

Located in the building of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Sapienza University in Rome, ILIESI is becoming one of the main Italian organisations involved in DARIAH-IT.

To help us put together a varied and interesting agenda for our meeting a Programme Committee consisting of representatives from our local hosts, our Virtual Competency Centres and DARIAH-EU has been established. In addition an Organising Committee chaired by Antonio Lamarra (Director, ILIESI) will look after the practical organisation of the meeting.

Further information:

  • Location: Villa Mirafiori

Alongside the DARIAH Programme, a series of community sessions in the area of digital arts and humanities research are being organised.
