The DARIAH-Campus team is pleased to announce the inclusion of the ACDH-CH (Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage) Digital Humanities lecture series in the DARIAH-Campus collections.
The first of these lectures from ACDH-CH was published last year, featuring Laurent Romary, (INRIA, and former President of the board of Directors for DARIAH-EU) outlining the TEI Guidelines. In the latest publications to come from ACDH-CH, Dr. Natalie Harrower of the Digital Repository of Ireland discusses her observations on Collecting and Curating in the Digital Age, and Dr. Victoria Van Hyning from Zooniverse talks about Crowdsourcing Methods with Cultural Heritage and Academic Datasets.
“Many of our colleagues have done a tremendous job in creating new tools and building up wonderful new services, working in a very dynamic landscape of shifting paradigms and ever new technologies. To make these endeavours sustainable, we need to make the creation of educational resources explaining these new developments an integral part of our agenda and think them as an indispensable part of our infrastructure” says Karlheinz Mörth, Deputy Director of the Austrian Center for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. “Setting-up DARIAH-Campus has been an important step in this direction. We have now to work jointly to spread the word about this great initiative and to get the right people to contribute to it”.
Over the coming months, several more lectures from ACDH-CH will be available through DARIAH-Campus, covering such topics as Data Visualisation, Knowledge Design, and the use of virtual reality in the GLAM sector.
“The breadth of knowledge and expertise available through these video lectures from ACDH-CH is a treasure trove, so we are really excited to have them available through the DARIAH-Campus platform” says Vicky Garnett, DARIAH’s Training and Education Officer. “This also demonstrates the close relationship we have with our colleagues in ACDH-CH, which will continue as DARIAH-Campus develops”.
