Re.Data
The Re.Data website makes available to the Portuguese research community a set of services related to research data management.
The Re.Data consortium emerges in the context of the growing importance of managing and sharing data in research and development, and the consequent need to create services and training programs that support the research data lifecycle, in the different planning phases – documenting, processing and analyzing, storing, preserving, publishing and reusing data – establishing these best practices as a priority in scientific institutions in Portugal.
The creation of the Re.Data consortium thus represents a central contribution to ensuring alignment with the development of the EOSC, integration with European electronic infrastructures such as OpenAIRE, EGI, PRACE, GEANT and EUDAT, in a convergence of actions with the main infrastructures of the ESFRI roadmap with a national presence, such as OPERAS, CESSDA, DARIAH, SHARE, MIRRI, LifeWatch, EPOS, ELIXIR and CLARIN, including the implementation of the recommendations and results of the Research Data Alliance (RDA), paving the way for the implementation of national networks within the framework of a European Federation of Open Science.
The Re.Data Project aims to establish and operationalize the Portuguese network to support Research Data Management (RDM) together with the RDM capacity building platform, enabling a networked community of practice to operate three centers of competence in policy, training and support for data curation, with the objective of developing a national research data culture aligned with the FAIR principles to converge with the EOSC.
