The DARIAH Library WG connects libraries, researchers and infrastructure providers around digital cultural heritage collections and research data in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The group promotes libraries as active partners in digital scholarship, not only as custodians of collections but as providers of interoperable services, repositories, and computational access to data.
Key topics include: collections as data, research data curation, metadata standards, APIs, authentication and authorization infrastructures, and the application of artificial intelligence and data science in library environments. The group fosters collaboration between cultural heritage institutions and research communities, aligning its work with European initiatives such as EOSC and cultural heritage data spaces.
The DARIAH Library WG serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and best-practice development. It supports libraries in developing services for digital humanities, helps researchers access and reuse cultural heritage data, and strengthens connections with international networks and infrastructures such as LIBER, CENL, CLARIN and the broader GLAM sector. By doing so, the group reinforces the role of libraries as core actors in European digital research infrastructures.
