DESCRIPTION:Under the theme “Newspapers as Datasets”\, the event will o
 ffer several panels over the span of two half-days on the diverse topics o
 f collections as data and especially newspapers as datasets\, artificial i
 ntelligence and its applications in libraries. The panels will include pre
 sentations by researchers in international projects\, current work reports
  by researchers and presentations by staff at national libraries and AI la
 bs.\n\nThe speakers will address the following questions among others:\n\n
 How can generative AI be used to advance research on historical newspapers
 ?\n\nHow can deep learning be used to automatically recognize certain elem
 ents of newspapers – and how can this process be explained?\n\nWhat role
  can “newspapers as datasets” play in the joint European Dataspace 
 and in the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage?\n\nWhat ch
 allenges are library labs and national libraries currently facing with reg
