SUMMARY:Machine Learning and Data Mining for Digital Scholarly Editions
DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Documentology and Editing (IDE) cordially invi
tes you to the conference “Machine Learning and Data Mining for Digital
Scholarly Editions”\, which will take place on 9 and 10 June 2022 at the
University of Rostock.\n\nData mining and machine learning techniques are
increasingly used in several areas of the Digital Humanities\, e.g. for p
rocessing and extracting information from digital images or for analyzing
full texts representing humanities sources. Machine learning and data mini
ng methods are also already being used in the field of digital editing\, f
or example for text recognition\, for comparing textual witnesses or for e
nriching texts with linguistic or semantic information. The aim of the con
ference is to discuss existing approaches to the use of machine learning a
nd data mining in the workflow of digital editing\, to reflect on them and
to think about further\, future possible applications.\n\nThe conference
is organized by members of the IDE in collaboration with the University of
Rostock\, the Centre for Information Modelling at the University of Graz
 and the Know-Center Graz.
