SUMMARY:Helsinki Di­gital Hu­man­it­ies Hack­a­thon #DH­H21
DESCRIPTION:The Helsinki Digital Humanities Hackathon #DHH21 dates have bee
 n confirmed: 19.–28.5.2021. The application period is: 9.-31.3.2021. The
  event will be organized as an online hackathon. As a CLARIN and DARIAH
  summer school\, the event will be truly international welcoming applica
 tions from all over Europe. The NewsEye project will also have a strong
  presence at the hackathon.\n\nThe Helsinki Digital Humanities Hackathon 
 is a chance to experience an interdisciplinary research project from star
 t to finish within the span of 10 days. For researchers and students fro
 m computer science and data science\, the hackathon gives the opportunity 
 to test their abstract knowledge against complex real-life problems. For p
 eople from the humanities and social sciences\, it shows what is possible 
 to achieve with such collaboration.\n\nFor both\, the hackathon gives the 
 experience of intensely working with people from different backgrounds as 
 part of an interdisciplinary team\, as\, during the hackathon\, each group
  will develop a digital humanities research project from start to finish. 
 Working together\, they will formulate research questions with respect to 
 particular data sets\, develop and apply methods and tools to answer them\
 , and present the work at the end of the hackathon. For information on wha

 17\, #DHH16 and #DHH15.\n\nParticipation to #DHH21 is free to all accep
 ted participants.\n\n5 ECTS credits may be gained from participating in th
 e hackathon for students in University of Helsinki and other universities.
