SUMMARY:DARIAH-CH Workshop “Creating workflows in the SSH Open Marketplac
 e”
DESCRIPTION:The Social Sciences and Humanities Open Marketplace (SSH Open M
 arketplace) – marketplace.sshopencloud.eu – is a discovery portal wh
ich pools and contextualises resources for Social Sciences and Humanities
 research communities: tools\, services\, training materials\, datasets
\, publications and workflows.\n\nThe SSH Open Marketplace showcases so
lutions and research practices for every step of the research data life cy
cle. In doing so\, it facilitates discoverability and findability of resea
rch services and products that are essential to enable sharing and re-use
of workflows and methodologies.\n\nWorkflows and the DARIAH-CH workshop\n\
nWorkflows are a specific content type in the SSH Open Marketplace and are
defined as “Sequences of steps that one can perform on research data du
ring their lifecycle. Workflows can be achieved by using diverse tools\, r
esources and methods\, and the useful resources are connected to each step
.” (SSH Open Marketplace 2023).\n\nWorkflows:\n\nare built\, within the
SSH Open Marketplace\, on use cases that bring into light recommended tool
s\, formats and methods\, and are reusable for other researchers\nrepresen
t “the living memory of what should be the best research practices in a
given community”\nare a good way to point to tools and services that res
earchers are using. This will help others in understanding which digital m
ethods may serve their needs the best\n\n(Barbot and colleagues\, 2024\,
