Machine Learning and Data Mining for Digital Scholarly Editions
June 9, 2022 - June 10, 2022
The Institute of Documentology and Editing (IDE) cordially invites you to the conference “Machine Learning and Data Mining for Digital Scholarly Editions”, which will take place on 9 and 10 June 2022 at the University of Rostock.
Data mining and machine learning techniques are increasingly used in several areas of the Digital Humanities, e.g. for processing and extracting information from digital images or for analyzing full texts representing humanities sources. Machine learning and data mining methods are also already being used in the field of digital editing, for example for text recognition, for comparing textual witnesses or for enriching texts with linguistic or semantic information. The aim of the conference is to discuss existing approaches to the use of machine learning and data mining in the workflow of digital editing, to reflect on them and to think about further, future possible applications.
The conference is organized by members of the IDE in collaboration with the University of Rostock, the Centre for Information Modelling at the University of Graz and the Know-Center Graz.
