The DARIAH-ERIC has been deeply saddened to learn today the death of our former Director, Conny Kristel. She served as a DARIAH Director from the foundation of the ERIC in 2014 until 2016, and was also the Coordinator of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI). Her deep knowledge of historical research processes and collections, her clear-eyed judgement and generous support to researchers and their projects were all important assets for DARIAH in the early years. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her colleagues at NIOD and EHRI and with her partner Christiaan, her family and other loved ones at this difficult time.
