EMMRI (Executive Masters in Management of Research Infrastructures) is a pillar of the RItrain consortium, an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project aimed at improving and professionalising training for managerial and leadership staff in research infrastructures (RIs). RItrain is coordinated by a consortium comprising RIs and Universities: BBMRI-ERIC, EMBL-EBI(representing ELIXIR), ECRIN, EATRIS, Infrafrontier, Euro-Bioimaging (IMG), CNRS (representing DARIAH), SHARE-ERIC, Medical University of Wien, Imperial College London, University of Minho, and the University of Milano-Bicocca.

The vision of RItrain is to develop a new generation of executives of national and international RIs who understand the necessity of undergoing professional training to acquire state-of-the-art managerial and leadership skills tailored to the needs of scientific service providers – executives that are committed to continuing professional development for themselves and their staff, and can transition smoothly from one RI to another.
The full Master programme is an official MBA under the Bologna rules. This programme is also managerial training tailored to academic and scientific needs, including online and face-to-face modules. The Master course is delivered by an international faculty, by guest experts, and by top managers from well-established RIs.
