The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Tartu welcomes applicants for short-term visiting lectureships in digital humanities or any field of quantitative humanities studies. The University of Tartu will offer three new positions in digital humanities for one semester (5 months) each, during the period 2018–2019, starting with February 2018. The purpose of these semester-long positions is to extend, develop and diversify the curricula and local research potential in various areas of digital humanities in Estonia via exchange of knowledge, skills and teaching experience.
Positions will be awarded on a competitive basis and will be full time for five months, either during the autumn (September–January) or spring (February–June) semester. The exact duration of the visit is negotiable. The lecturer is expected to teach at least two courses (both 3–6 ECTS) during the visit in the area of her/his expertise and consult local researchers and students on related topics. We encourage applicants working in any field of digital humanities studies. Early-stage researchers and recent PhDs are also encouraged to apply.

Assessment criteria include the topics of proposed courses, the applicant’s previous teaching experience, publication record and letter of motivation. We will attempt to achieve diversity of fields and topics to be covered in the courses provided by the three approved applicants.

The monthly salary will be 2400–2800 EUR (after all tax reductions appr. 1900–2200EUR for Estonian tax residents). The salary is negotiable, depending on the competence and experience of the applicant, as well as the exact period of work.
The candidate is required to be a resident of a country other than Estonia, and to not have been an academic employee in Estonia for more than 10 months in total, after 30.10.2010.
