DARIAH-EU’s Coordination Office welcomes Francesca Morselli. Francesca works at DANS, where she is mainly involved in the DARIAH CIO team and the DARIAH coordinated project Humanities at Scale (HaS). DARIAH-EU’s Chief Integration Officer, Henk Harmsen, who leads the CIO team, says: “Francesca is highly skilled and she already worked in many international projects. Both is very valuable to us and important for the work she conducts in DARIAH”.
Francesca is an information specialist at DANS. As part of the CIO team she helps coordinating the activities of DARIAH’s Virtual Competence Centers (VCCs) and their related working groups. She is also involved in gathering in-kind contributions from the DARIAH National Coordinators, a main responsibility of the CIO.
Francesca’s work in Humanities at Scale (HaS) is directly connected to her duties in the CIO team. She is mainly involved in work package 5, which designs and develops an infrastructure for the classification of the DARIAH member states’ in-kind contributions. In addition, this work package promotes the use of interoperable standards by defining best practices and quality assessment frameworks.
Francesca also works for the PARTHENOS project, to which DARIAH has close ties. At PARTHENOS she coordinates work package 3 together with Hella Hollander.
Francesca’s academic background is in Media Studies (with majors in contemporary history and audiovisual semiotics) and Film Archiving. Before joining DARIAH she worked and conducted research for european projects and institutions for the accessibility of cultural heritage, both directed to general users and academics. Francesca also worked as a researcher for the CENDARI project, which was coordinated by Trinity College Dublin, a partner organization of DARIAH in Ireland.
