DARIAH-EU Welcomes New Research Associate

DARIAH-EU has a new team member: Julius Peinelt was hired as a research associate for Humanities at Scale.

DARIAH-EU has a new team member: Julius Peinelt was hired as a research associate for Humanities at Scale. He is responsible for software development. “We are delighted to work with Julius. He is a very skilled computer scientist, which is shown by his various experiences in research as well as in the private sector, where he has worked as a software developer”, says Laurent Romary, representing DARIAH’s Board of Directors.

Julius studied computer science with a focus on space informatics and data mining with a minor in musicology. While studying he founded his own company that produces software for the Mac OS X and iOS platforms.

After university Julius worked as a software developer at a music software company where he implemented the user interface for parts of the software and the hardware controllers. Later he worked at a service design company that uses a user and design centric approach for software development. Besides implementing and planning various projects from mobile applications to data analysis he build up a development team working with agile methods.
